Our Beliefs

What we believe

At the start of Jesus’ ministry, he quoted the prophet Isaiah saying:

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed…

Luke 4:18

Throughout Jesus ministry, he healed those who were emotionally broken; he brought deliverance to those who were oppressed, and he brought physical healing to all who were in need.

We believe that God still heals and delivers today, and he has commissioned us to preach the gospel, lay hands on the sick and set the captives free.

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.

Mark 16:15-18

As a centre we are fully aligned with the 12 foundational truths of the Elim Pentecostal Church. In particular, the Foundational Truth on ‘The Commission’ clearly articulates the mission of The Wimbledon Healing and Deliverance Centre:

We believe that the Gospel embraces the needs of the whole man and that the Church is therefore commissioned to preach the Gospel to the world and to fulfil a ministry of healing and deliverance to the spiritual and physical needs of mankind.
